Section 1. What is a Returns Policy?
1.1 In retail, returning an item is the process of a customer taking a previously purchased
item back to the retailer, and in turn, receiving a cash refund, exchange for another
item (identical or different), or a store credit, however to accept returns there are rules that
you (The Consumer) and we (The Supplier) must follow.
Section 2. Introduction
2.1 Here at SK Automotive & Garden Machinery we will always do our best to give you
the best shopping experience possible. However sometimes on the rare occasions when
problems arise you may need to return/exchange an item. This policy will help you to
understand how we handle returns.
2.2 It is important that you read Section 5 of this policy to understand what items we
can/cannot accept returns on.
2.3 SK Automotive & Garden Machinery cannot accept returns for warranty replacement
or repair. For all warranty claims you must go directly to the product manufacturer (unless advised otherwise), for
more information on warranty’s read Section 6.
Section 3. The Consumer Rights Act (2015)
3.1 The Consumer Rights Act 2015 became law on 1st October 2015, replacing three
major pieces of consumer legislation: The Sale of Good Act, Unfair Terms in Consumer
Contracts Regulations, and The Supply of Goods and Services Act. The Consumer Rights Act
was introduced to simplify, strengthen, and modernise the law, giving you clearer shopping
3.3 As with The Sales of Goods Act, under The Consumer Rights Act all products must be
of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described.
Section 4. Returning non-faulty Goods
4.1 If you simply change your mind, We (The Seller) have no legal obligation to accept a
return for a refund.
4.2 If you wish to cancel your order you can do this by calling our customer service
department or e-mailing (firstname.lastname@example.org).
4.3 If your order has already been despatched you may have to pay a courier fee to have
the item returned to us for a refund.
4.4 We will only accept a return (within 14 Days) if the item is in its original packaging
and in its original condition.
4.5 Damages to an item, whether accident or purposeful will be subject to a surcharge.
4.6 Ripped packaging is also subject to a surcharge.

Section 5. Items we can/cannot accept returns on
5.1 Below is a list of some items we cannot accept returns on:
- Downloadable Content (Unless Faulty)
- Perishable Items
- Made to Order Items
- Special Order Items
5.2 However any items on the list above can be returned if faulty.
Section 6. Manufacture Warranty
6.1 Some items you buy from us may come with a Manufacture Warranty.
6.2 For some products you may be required to register your product on the
manufacture’s website. For more information on registering products visit our “Product Registration”
page at (www.skautoandgm.co.uk/product-registration).
6.3 It is advised that you keep your receipt/invoice as proof of purchase as some
manufacturers may require one when you make a warranty claim.
6.4 Most manufactures give you 30 days from the day of sale to register your product,
however you should check the manufactures website for more information.
6.5 Most manufacture warranty’s will only cover faults due to a defect in materials or
poor workmanship. They do not cover fair wear and tear, accidental damage or damage caused
by negligence or misuse, or unauthorised modification.
6.6 Manufactures warranty’s can vary in length, some may be a lifetime warranty and
some can only be a few years. Once the warranty period has passed you may not be able to
make a claim.
6.7 We (SK Automotive & Garden Machinery) will not accept any returns for any
warranty replacement or repair unless we are authorised to by the manufacturer.
Section 7. Surcharges
7.1 Below is a list of surcharges applicable to all returns:
- Change of delivery address (before dispatch): FREE
- Change of delivery address (after dispatch): £6.00
- Return to Sender: £7.00
- Remote Collection: £7.80
- Damage on a returned item: 20% of the purchase price
- Broken parts on a returned item: 40% of the purchase price
- Damaged packaging: 5% of the purchase price
- Over-sized parcel: £40
- Over weight parcel: £40
7.2 These surcharges only apply to returns for non-faulty goods.

This Returns Policy was amended on the 1st January 2021 and will take effect from that
date. Any orders placed before this date will still be subject to any previous return policy.
We may revise this returns policy at any time without prior notice. However all of our
current customers will be sent an email to make customers aware of any changes and it will also be posted under the news section of our website.
